Wow! My first ever solo trip. I have decided to travel on my own without my boyfriend or family. I wanted travel to Miami solo for multiple reasons – first of all I know the city well and I feel safe there as I have been previously. My friends live there so it’s not a such a huge issue and also thought would be nice to meet some new bloggers and freelance photographers. Few days before my departure I almost got heart attack when hurricane Dorian alert came through but luckily it didn’t hit Miami.
Last time when I have stayed in Miami we have stayed in posh hotels in downtown this time I have decided to stay only on South Beach and Miami Beach. I have crashed at my friends place for few days rest stayed in cool Airbnb apartments on South beach which were just a block away from beach. To be honest driving is really favourite activity of my boyfriend I decided not to rent a car and stay hassle free as finding parking in south beach is quite a headache. Uber is so cheap and plus you can get around entire Miami Beach for free if you use Miami Trolley.
Since I have already seen most of South Beach my friend showed me around Hollywood beach where we went almost every day roller skating and just chilled on the beach. Hollywood beach is much more chilled down and less crowded than Miami Beach and also much more cleaner and sea over there is calm.
I have also payed visit to my favourite area Wynwood because there is some artistic side in me. As always I was blown away with the amazing graffiti and street art.
I even went for the first time on proper night out with girls, finally YAaay! We decided to visit famous night club Rockwell. Ladies – little recommendation check on Instagram their club promoters and you will have free entry & drinks plus VIP table all night.
Each time I am in Florida I love to plan a few days trip to Key West because the sea over there is absolutely mesmerizing. Usual stop at Bahia Honda State Park is a must! Fantastic large beach which connects the Atlantic and Gulf of Mexico. Unbelievable clear water and beach is perfect with white sand.
Activities in Key West
There is a plenty activities you can do in Key West but I highly recommend to rent a boat and just go on day boat trip to explore near by islands. We have also rented a jet ski with my friends and this is super fun as the entire hour and half you can see wildlife so you can spot herons, dolphins and stingray.
Florida holds a very special place in my heart mostly because of the sunshine and unique blue skies. I am hoping to come back soon and stay at least for couple of months.
