After a 3 seasons spent celebrating Christmas in Dubai I have finally decided to try something new and travel to the other side of the world.I did not want to go anywhere cold as winter in London is already painful enough. My first thought was let’s go to Australia, but since I had only 3 weeks time off I knew it wouldn’t be enough time, so I have decided to go to Florida,Sunshine State!Yaay!Luckily enough my college friend lives in Key West.It was absolutely brilliant idea to split time between visiting her, stay on island and enjoy bit of paradise. And the best in the end – visit and stay in Miami.
Key West is amazing small U.S. island city,it’s only 90 miles from Cuba and Florida’s southernmost point. The main reason I have decided to visit Keys was that it’s well known for its coral reef.Since I love diving and snorkeling I knew this would be perfect destination to go!From the first minute I have arrived (after never ending 4h car journey from MIA airport) I fall in love with the island atmosphere.People were just so chilled.Everyone was cruising on their cool bikes and the pastel-hued ,conch – style houses were absolutely breathtaking.I could not believe that this small island have so much to offer!
Every day I spent on different beach.Must visit – Bahia Honda state park,Fort Zachary Taylor historic state park.Never seen such gorgeous colored sand beaches before!
Favorite part of the day was sunset.Key West is known for the sunset that draw tourist from all over the U.S.The most popular spot to watch the sunset is Mallory Square.
Some of the evenings I have spent on iconic downtown Duval street.Buzzing place, lot’s of bars, clubs where u can meet local people.During the day u can get delicious lime pie at Kermit’s Key West Key Lime Shoppe. They have huge selection of gluten free pies and free samples of delicious cookies!
